    To visit senior clubs and schools, attends meetings, conferences and club forums.


    To represent the County at Twickenham, when invited.

ALAN CROUCHER

  • Key responsibilities

    Provide vision, leadership and business planning to develop the Sussex RFU for the benefit of its members. 


    Lead and chair the Board and Clubs’ Meetings. 


    Be the primary spokesperson for the Sussex RFU.


    Ensure the Sussex RFU is compliant with the necessary regulatory requirements (e.g. RFU, FSA etc)


    Develop the effectiveness of the Board and

    strengthen the relationships between members clubs and the Board.

  • Key responsibilities

    Manage activities of the SRFU Finance Sub Committee.


    Produce annual Financial Statements for Sussex RFU Limited and ensure registration with FCA.


    Ensure annual business plan aligns to available revenues and reserves.

    Produce Quarterly management accounts 

    • Verify Club Accounts to ensure compliance with RFU Reg 5 

    • Conduct regular reviews with individual Directors, ensure delivery of actions are tracked against agreed budgets

    • To support the Clubs and the SRFU to recruit, train, develop and retain Coaches, Referees and Volunteers.

    • To manage the recruitment of SRFU Board Members and Officers.

    • To ensure that all Clubs and the SRFU comply with the RFU policy on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.

    • To manage enquiries and issues relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

    • Oversee Discipline, Safeguarding and RugbySafe.

    • Ensure Clubs comply with RFU regulations, policies and procedures.

    • Oversee the process for Clubs to:

     Play Players outside of their Age Grade.

     Host Rugby Camps, Festivals and Tournaments.

     Go on Tour.

    • Monitor the activity of Third-Party Coaching Companies operating in Sussex

    • To oversee the running of leagues and cups for Adult Male, Colts and U17 squads.

    • To approve 17-year-old players to take part in Adult Rugby.

    • To manage the transition of players from Junior to Senior rugby

    • To promote male contact and non-contact rugby in Sussex

    • To liaise with Harlequins on the Developing Player Programme (DPP) & Player Development Programme (PDG)

    • To ensure U14 to U18 players from Sussex Clubs & Schools engage with the DPP and PDG programme

    • To manage the exit pathway for players from the DPP programme.

    • To promote the highest standards of both corporate and sport governance at Sussex Rugby Board level and throughout the county board set up. 
    • To contribute to the role of the Board in accordance with the fiduciary duties as a director
    • To act as an independent representative of Sussex Rugby and its member clubs. 
    • To promote a culture of openness and transparency for Sussex rugby. 
    • To support the Board with the implementation of its strategic plan.  

GARY HENDERSON

  • Key responsibilities

    • Act as a member of the Council to hold the Board to account and: determine policies and regulations.
    • Attend and contribute to Council Meetings and allocated sub committees across all areas of the game. 
    • Represent the interests of the SRFU and its clubs to the RFU 
    • Provide a focal point for the SRFU and its clubs on guidance and specialist contacts at Twickenham.
    • Provide regular reports to the CB and clubs on all relevant RFU business.
    • Consult with their CB and clubs
